La Paisseiro (A5)
This is a very beautifully renovated village house cleverly designed and lovingly furnished. A young architect made full use of the large open spaces which used to be a family winery before the conversion. Light plays on the exposed stone walls giving the open plan living and dining room a warm and happy feel. The colours are quite 'natural' and muted allowing the eye to appreciate the beautiful pieces of furniture and paintings that the owners enjoy collecting.
The furniture is extremely comfortable (something holiday makers tend to expect more and more from their holiday accommodation) - big modern sofas to sink into and a large wooden dining table.
The upstairs bedrooms are wonderfully different - from the bold pinks of the 'children's bedroom' to the honeyed yelllows of the master bedroom - each one is unique and original.
'La Paisseiro' is situated at the end of a quiet street with views of the countryside. This wine growing village has around 320 inhabitants. The entrance to the house itself is through the original wooden 'cave' doors leading from the village street.
