  The south Pacific coast is renowned for its dramatic landscapes where the mountains meet the ocean. This is the real Costa Rica with the gorgeous and secluded Ventanas Beach only 10 minutes from the Villa Mariposa and the village of Ojochal with international restaurants and all the amenities all within 15 minutes. Located 30 minutes south of Dominical and 25 minutes north of the Palmar Sur airstrip on the picturesque and well paved Costanera highway. You can fly into the international airport in San Jose and drive or take a 30 minute scenic flight over the mountains and along the coast to Palmar Sur airstrip. From there we can arrange to have a 4x4 rental waiting for you and then drive the 25 minutes to Villa Mariposa. Alternatively with the recent competition of the new Caldera highway to the Pacific coast many guests drive the 2 1/2 hours on new highway or take a private VIP shuttle from San Jose Airport. A 4x4 is strongly recommended for access the villa and the beaches.

Eco-Tours: Take the horseback tour through the lush jungle to the Magnificent Nauyaca Falls where you can swim in the natural pools or jump from the falls. This wonderful day trip for the whole family with opportunities to get up close for great photo ops with the tame toucans and macaws at Don Lulo's home when you stop for a delicious and typical Costa Rican breakfast and lunch. Visit Hacienda Baru, a privately owned national wildlife refuge offering three tours. The Flight of the Toucan is a zipline canopy tour consisting of 8 ziplines that carry you like a toucan from tree to tree across canopy and canyon floors. There is lots of wildlife to see from the air and on the ground. This is a great tour for all ages.Other tours include the Canopy Observation Platform which is over 100ft high in a magnificent tree and the Tree Climbing tour for the more adventurous. Visit the free Butterfly Garden with a good sampling of the over 550 species of Butterflies in Costa Rica.

This enchanting home is designed for privacy with a central living / dining area and bedrooms set off to either side. It's ideal for families or 2 or 3 couples, with the master bedroom at one end of the house and an equally large bedroom at the other end. Both main bedrooms have their own double French doors opening to the terrace and pool. You will luxuriate waking up to a tranquil ocean view from your pillow and enjoy completing the day with a romantic sunset, dining alfresco and stargazing. The master bedroom features a gorgeous view of the pool and ocean as well as an ensuite bathroom with oversized shower, a luxurious Queen-size bed and a walk-in closet.

The property is located on a private, gated estate minutes from the gorgeous Playa Ventanas, an unspoiled sandy beach with palm trees on a lovely secluded bay surrounded by rocky cliffs and natural caverns with tunnels that you can walk through at low tide to the next beach.

Minimum Stay: 1 Week

A 50% Deposit fee is due upon confirmation of reservation and a 50% Final deposit is due 30 days prior to arrival. $300 US security deposit fee payable with final payment and refundable by check following check-out if no damages.
Weekly rates are for up to six people. An additional charge of $50.00 per person per night or $300 per week for guests in addition to 6 for a maximum of 8 guests Children count as people. The office can be used as a bedroom with two twin raised air mattresses. Weekly rates include cleaning and mid week maid service. Call to book the villa and our local English speaking property manger will assist you with booking tours and activities.
